After such an exciting night--Election Night--hearing President Elect Barack Obama's Victory Speech, I must admit, I have to set aside some time to devote to this wonderful, exciting, and historic time in our lives. I know that we all feel so much emotion over this victory=whether feeling that we are a part of history as a nation, a young generation, or just being overjoyed and hopeful for our future, we cannot ignore what an eloquent Victory Speech given by President Elect Obama. Because we have been working on Main Idea and Details throughout this workshop, and this workshop is about to come to a close, I feel that we need some extra practice on this skill. Many were awake celebrating the victory and were able to watch and hear our newly elected president's speech--others did not get the chance to see or hear it.
Our lesson for the next couple of days will be to identify main ideas and supporting details of President Elect Barack Obama's Victory Speech. We do know that the topic is: Barack Obama's Victory Speech. We will listen and read together his speech and stop to identify main ideas along with details to support the main ideas throughout his speech.
