A Gift For your Parents and/or Family
We will construct a gift for your family as a way to keepsake this historical time in our lives. The Task: Design a folder to keep a copy of President Elect Obama's Speech.
Go to “Insert”—then click “Word Art” –play around with the words and shapes.
- You will need to pick key phrases from your speech that you think captures the overall feeling of Barack Omama’s speech—I have provided some on the board, but I encourage you to think of your own. "Democracy"...."Individual Liberty"...."Self-reliance"...."brick by brick....calloused hand, by calloused hand".....flip through your copy of his speech and/or your Graphic Organizer.
2. Please go to Microsoft Word 2007—click on "new document"
Go to “Insert”—then click “Word Art” –play around with the words and shapes.
3. If you think it will go over the page, then you will have to click "Format" to either edit your text or change the sizing.
4. When ready to save, I will come around with my TRAVELDrive to be saved for me to print at home.
This is an on-going project, please do not rush through--I encourage you to start collecting newspaper clippings, magazine pics, etc. of Barack Obama and/or anything patriotic.
Patriotic--having or showing love and support for oneʼs country; faithful, loyal, having pride on one's country.
Have fun!

Pablo Picasso's Work

In the topic Young At Art, the artist, Alexandra Nechita is compared to Pablo Picasso. The passage mentions that her type of artwork is called abstract. I have found a few paintings Of Picasso's artwork that illustrate this type of abstract work. Remember, abstract means unrealistic. Abstract art seeks to break away from traditional representation of physical objects. It explores the relationships of forms and colors, whereas more traditional art represents the world in recognizable images. I, personally, don't find it very appealing, but a good friend of mine just loves absract work for its simplicity. Take a look!
